Vienna based lyric tenor Robert Bartneck is fast establishing himself as an artist of note, winning widespread praise for his nobility of tone and refined technical accomplishment.
Bartneck has drawn international attention with his magnificent clear tenor and captivating stage presence while serving at Vienna State Opera for three years until 2023 and working with many well-known conductors such as Philippe Jordan, Adam Fischer, Franz Welser-Möst, Bertrand de Billy, Pablo Heras-Casado, Cornelius Meister and Axel Kober.
Especially dedicated to the German Lied, his concert repertoire ranges from works by Bach, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation and Seasons to the major works by Mozart, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem and Orff’s Carmina Burana. Concert engagements have taken the artist to concert stages throughout Europe and China and are regularly broadcast for radio and/or television.
Born in Hanover, Robert Bartneck studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz with Ulf Bästlein and Elisabeth Batrice. He completed several master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Kurt Equiluz, Angelika Kirchschlager and Charles Spencer.
