25 Jan Dutch Tenor Kor-Jan Dusseljee in King Lear at Teatro Real Madrid
Based on William Shakespeare’s King Lear, this opera composed by Aribert Reimann is premiered for the first time in Spain by Calixto Bieito. After having started at Opera National de Paris and toured to Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and back to Paris, King Lear finally arrived to Teatro Real Madrid, after having been postponed from 2020 due to the pandemic. Dutch tenor Kor-Jan Dusseljee sings the role of Count of Kent and is part of the cast ever since its premiere in Paris.
